Katy studies the direct and indirect effects of weather on grassland songbirds, from the level of individual physiology up to the community level. She is part of our collaboration with Dr. Trevor Hefley and Narmadha Mohankumar in the Statistics Dept. at K-State to integrate these mechanistic drivers into a model that will allow us to forecast how weather events will affect population dynamics.
